The Large Lapel Black Men's Overcoat | Men's Style Edit

I going to elaborate further on this exquisite French Connection Deluxe Pile Coat as it's drawn a lot of attention on my Instagram feed. Firstly, it's a double breasted wool-blend with a heavily textured look. A lot of bloggers and sartorialists will tell you never to wear a double breasted open, which is true for suit jackets and long coats as they will lose their shape under the unevenness of the fabric.

However, this is more peacoat in size and I can wear it open because we live in a free society and you're not the boss of me. Sorry, I'm feeling uncharacteristically defensive today.

Secondly, it's super luxurious and the fabric has a gorgeous supple quality to it. It's a loose, non-constricting fit and the large collars really draw focus to the face. 'Vanity, always my favourite sin' - Al Pacino. The Devil's Advocate. (By the way my predictive text wanted me to say The Devil's Avocado which I thinks sounds like a much more interesting film).

In a rich grey hue the coat promises versatility, providing the perfect finishing touch to your winter wardrobe. I have paired this with mutual dark colours to emphasise the broodiness, yet styled with white sneakers brings a little contrast to the ensemble.

This French Connection Deluxe Pile Coat is currently on offer through the French Connection website, reduced from £250 to £200. Only available in Black.

Men's Accessories for Summer | Men's Style Edit

Over the past few months I've been asked many times on email and via Direct Messages on Instagram, how men should accessorise. For men, less tends to be more, by choosing quality products over quantity. For example, go for a beautiful well crafted bracelet from Gentlemen's Chuckaboo for £19.99 rather than 5 fabric bracelets that you can get in Thailand for 20p which will end up looking cheap and dirty, certainly not the look we're going for.

Combine a watch with the tones of your outfit, so when I wear black jeans, I tend to wear a rose-gold or black strapped watch. Navy jeans and I'll opt for a navy watch face for example.

Chains or pendants are massive right now but stick to one rather than hang layers and layers of jewels around your neck. Below is how I've styled this look with a variety of my favourite men's accessories.

Men's Cream Bomber Jacket | Men's Style Edit

This week I've taken my own advice and spring cleaned my life, winter coats have been either packed away or taken to the charity shop. This cleanse was immediately followed by a heightened need to fill those newly free coat hangers. Winter coats are perfectly replaced by lightweight bomber jackets in every colour for the spring/summer season.

Since I've already got a navy, grey, black and green bomber jacket the next logical choice was something a little lighter such as this cream one from ASOS. I've styled this men's style edit look casually with a pair of dark navy jeans, black trainers and a plain white t-shirt, all brought online via ASOS.

Layering with a Leather Jacket | Men's Style Edit

With the weather warming up you might be tempted to pack away your leather jackets in favour of something lighter such as a bomber jacket. I would say, don't be so hasty, your leather jacket can still be the crown in your wardrobe this spring and on the odd cool summer day. In this weeks men's style edit, I'm laying up using simple navy, white and black colours.

This is pretty much my go-to outfit when I'm dressing casually. The leather jacket is from Bodaskins, white t-shirt from ASOS and the navy shirt from Reiss. For the lower half I'm wearing ASOS skinny black jeans and a pair of Chelsea boots from Dune London, purchased via House of Fraser.  I've accessorised with a Rotary watch and pair of Silhouette glasses from their new Alpha collection.

As always, if you like the look, you can shop it below.

The Cuban Collar Shirt | Men's Style Edit

Okay so we're forecasted continuous rain in the UK for the next 10 days, so I couldn't feel less Cuban right now if I'm honest! Some people say that I have an over imaginative mind and I'm harnessing all of it's power right now in the attempt to imagine this shirt on the beaches of Cuba or in-fact anywhere remotely sunny. Instead I've thrown off my large warm jacket, umbrella and photographed this outfit during a brief break in the weather on the streets of London.

It's quite hard trying to showcase new SS18 (Spring/Summer 2018) collections when the weather just isn't playing ball...but as a predominately fashion blogger, I have to persevere, adapt and carry on regardless. I love the simplicity of this look, a basic monochrome palette and on-trend Cuban collar shirt completes a very summer look. Imagine this on a tropical paradise sipping a cocktail.

Starting from top to bottom, I'm wearing sunglasses from Finlay & Co, a white Cuban shirt from Reiss, watch from Rotary, skinny black jeans from ASOS and white trainers from Cole Haan.

A Casual Weekend Attire | Men's Style Edit

On weekends most of us just want to be cozy, warm and comfortable and normally that would mean just staying on your PJ's all weekend but thats just gross. So what I tend to wear is something quick and easy, jeans, t-shirt, jumper and if I head out of the house I'll put on my favourite Bodaskins leather jacket which makes any outfit look good.

As you know, in these Style Edits, I don't tend to go into much detail with the writing and why I've styled the outfit. It is more of a visual representation and if you like certain pieces of clothing, you can simply shop them by clicking on the images below.

Starting from top to bottom, the glasses are from Oliver Peoples, the T-shirt from ASOS, the cardigan is from Reiss, the leather jacket is from Bodaskins, the jeans are from ASOS and the trainers are from Cole Haan.

Everyday Dressing | Men's Style Edit

If you've been keeping up with my Instagram, you'll have realised that I've been in the Philippines over the last week wearing linen shirts, cotton shorts and t-shirts. Whilst everyone staying in the UK has been 'embracing' the snow in minus 8 degree temperatures wearing all the layers with the chunkiest knitwear and coats. Somewhere in between you'll find the mean of these two extremes, which is your everyday outfit. Simple colours and single layers are perfect for wearing indoors as well as out for average daily weather.

For me the ultimate everyday men's style is dark colours, so you can wear them more than once without them looking completely grimy. Layered simply with a jumper, bomber jacket or my favourite jacket style, the biker jacket in leather or suede. You can then accessorise to keep things fresh with glasses, sunglasses, rings, pendents, different kinds of footwear such as black or white trainers or even a dark pair of Chelsea boots would work great.

For this look I've been shopping mainly at ASOS, buying the grey suede biker jacket, t-shirt and black jeans. If you love the complete look, you can shop it below.

Outfit of the Week | Men's Style Edit | ASOS, Superdry, Serge Denimes

This week has been pretty awesome, I started off the week doing lots of fashion photoshoots with loads of new clothing that I've brought, so I've got some incredible Style Edits coming in the coming weeks. Tuesday evening was a dinner event to celebrate the launch of the new Mont Blanc fragrance attended by industry experts, press and social influencers all joined together for a tasty evening at the Ivy Market Grill in Covent Garden.

Wednesday night brought the launch of the new male grooming brand House 99 which was endorsed by the one and only David Beckham, who also attended the event and mingled for a couple of hours before heading off. Moving swiftly on to my Thursday where I had a meeting with one of my favourite brands of all time Boda Skins who are hosting a pop-up store just around the corner from Warren Street tube station. I managed to get my hands on one of their designer leather jackets which you do not understand how happy that makes me!

Male grooming and fragrance aside, I feel that 2018 is going to be the year of men's accessories with designer sunglasses and jewellery at the fore-front of this trend. Just look at brands such as Serge Denimes, Taylor Morris and Alex Orso who are pioneering this trend in men's fashion.

For my outfit of the week, I'm wearing an ASOS striped t-shirt layered with a checked wool blend jacket, black jeans and black Chelsea boots from Superdry. I've accessorised with a psir of H.F.S sunglasses by Taylor Morris, a Kartel watch, rings from Serge Denimes and a pendant chain from Alex Orso.

Outfit of the Week | Men's Style Edit

How has everyone's December been so far? Mine has been super productive and I've even managed to combine working extremely hard with shed loads of going out and waking up with hangovers. The only thing that's suffered has been my fitness. Saturday I was out having a few beers with friends and I got talking to a mate of mine who is a PT and we discussed how important it is to mentally prepare for getting fit in the new year, in December.

Take myself for example. I've not really kept fit properly since early Autumn or Summer time, and I've hit the point where I think what's the point in just doing once or twice a week as it's not going to make a blind bit of difference. I do tend to be all or nothing although after the weekends chat, I've realised that mentally it is good to 'tick along' as stopping in it's entirety is so hard mentally to get motivated again.

So tonight I'm going to trundle along in 1st gear and do a few fitness classes (or as many as possible) before the new year starts when I'll drive straight from 1st gear to 6th without stalling and hit it hard. Give it a go yourself, get prepared with your fitness goals now and reap the rewards in January.

Men's Outfit of the Day | Style Edit

Whilst the weather is getting cooler, my dress sense is actually getting brighter which is down to renewing my love for wearing my favourite colour, yellow. Of course that has been made possible after finding this incredible yellow sweater by a relatively new brand called Centre Front, started by a former fashion buyer from ASOS. So todays outfit of the day, style edit is all about how to style a brightly coloured jumper and the key is to use a basic colour palette.

When wearing a bright coloured piece of clothing such as a jumper, trainers, t-shirt etc, it works extremely when when pairing with dark, basic colours such as navy and black. Whatever the bold piece of clothing is, combine it with these dark colours. So for example, I wouldn't wear a pair of yellow trainers with this outfit, as I feel the yellow in the jumper AND trainers could clash. However if you were wearing a pair of yellow trainers, change the jumper to a plain dark colour, such as black. I just think it works extremely well. Simple but effective.

In this outfit of the day, which is actually perfect to wear during the weekend I'm combining the yellow Centre Front jumper with a pair of black ripped jeans from ASOS, Chelsea boots by NEXT and an overcoat by Antony Morato. I've accessorised with my leather 24hr bag by Jack Russell and scarf from Fisher & Woordes.

Men's Double Denim Style Edit

If I did a pool on fashion faux pas, I'm pretty sure the top few would be wearing socks with sandals, bumbags and of course double denim. But NO why oh why is double denim considered such a sin in the everyday world? The fashion industry has adopted this trend for years and with exceptionally creative individuals like John JarrettGalih Richardson & Esham Kali pioneering double-denim I'm hoping that it will become more of a statement rather than a question. Oh and PS, you need to follow these guys and their collective We Are Outlanders.

When you're a novice at styling an outfit full of denim, it is best to stick to two different tones for the top half and the bottom half, such as the way I have styled myself in this look. The easiest is to use blue and black denim, a perfect and simple combination in my eyes. The great thing about buying the denim jacket that I have used in this post is that it has a autumnal tan contrast collar, taking the edge off the fact that you are wearing double-denim whilst drawing the eye on the small detailed touches. It is currently on sale at ASOS for only £50 and all sizes are still in-stock.

Once you have mastered the basics, then it is time to start experimenting with different denim clothing and washes. For inspiration, look no further than Instagram and here are my favourites from the aforementioned trio of denim genious's.

An Everyday Outfit Style Inspiration for Men | Outfit of the Day

Yesterday I spent a lot of the day writing an article about why it's time for a life and body detox and in it I touched on being single in London and my relationship history (which is pretty much non existent). Saying that, I have had quite a few dates over the last few years and one thing that I always think way too much about is what to wear. For me a first date should be pretty casual, I wouldn't dress up in a suit, shoes and especially not a tie - that's too restrictive as a date shouldn't be a business meeting.

Stay relaxed and hopefully she'll feed off of that and the awkward first date nerves will casually dissolve into the evening. This outfit is (in my eyes) perfect for a first date, casual and easy to style. There are not too many colours going on, so you have no chance of looking like your mum just dressed you. As the winter weather kicks in, just layer a jacket or coat over the top as a statement piece. The coat can transform this outfit and give you the wow factor when first meeting. I personally would wear a cream coat, camel coat, a herringbone grey overcoat or even a lightweight bomber jacket. Yeahhh that would look awesome...I'll leave the actual date chat up to you but good luck!

This outfit is more than for a date, I've worn it already out down the pub, to meetings and just chilling around the house. The trainers are from Adidas, jeans from ASOS as is the shirt and finally the watch is from Rotary. If you love it, shop it as it is all new season AW17 collection.

MEN'S STYLING | LT SPIRIT 2.0 TEXTILE TRAINERS BY LACOSTE

What do you look for in a pair of trainers? For myself it is where comfort meets style whilst being able to style them with many different outfits. These Lacoste LT Spirit 2.0 Texture trainers are the epitome of that and are available in a variety of different colours to suit everyones personal style or for one person to own more than one pair! This black pair have a contrast white sole and the only different colouring is the Lacoste classic embroidered crocodile branding.

I've styled these Lacoste black trainers simply with a pair of skinny black jeans and white longline t-shirt, mimicking the monochrome style of the trainers themselves. My outfit of the week is finished off with a two-tone grey and black bomber jacket from Black Jamm and a black bezel watch from Seiko. It's simple yet stylish, clean lines and perfect for this autumn.

Men's Outfit of the Month for September

This week has been totally manic, I didn't think it could have got busier than August but September has totally smashed it out of the park. Over the past week I've been up to Norfolk working as an IT contractor (my trade before starting Hawkins & Shepherd) for an Oil company, doing some migration work at their service station is Great Yarmouth. Had numerous events and meetings, did some filming with an amazing suits/formalwear brand, setup a new office in Geneva, Switzerland (again for this oil company). Got totally hammered over in Geneva with some old work mates - then arrived back in London before taking a road trip to The Cotswolds for my collaboration with BMW MINI. The next morning, I was up early again doing more photos for MINI in the City of London then finally finishing off a mental week at Bounce (Ping Pong Bar) and then All Star Lanes (Bowling Bar) thrashing some poor girl at both activities.

That's why I haven't been blogging much this week. It is hard holding down what I would consider 3 jobs. The 1st being my menswear brand as mentioned before (Hawkins & Shepherd), which is quite difficult to manage alone, especially as right now I'm designing a new range of men's Made-in-Britain shirts. The 2nd is of course working with brands as a digital content creator, which could be videography, photography, filming days, presenting, blogging and Instagram. Finally it's working an a part-time contractor as an IT Networking Professional. This was my career for 15 years, so it is really important for me to keep my eye in on this industry because it's nice to have something to fall back on if everything else implodes, although work is great and life is good right now.

During a lot of the month of September, I have been wearing the above outfit, either exactly this or with different variations of it - so jeans instead of trousers and maybe trainers but the look is still the same. So today I'm sharing it with you. The trousers and coat are from Reiss, whereas the shirts is Zara, the watch Seiko and the shies are from Grenson. My personal favourite has to be the overcoat but the shirt is also pretty epic. So if you are looking for outfit ideas this AW17 transitional season, maybe try a couple of your favourite pieces from the below.

Simple styling, just get up and go

As per the title of this blog post, sometimes don't you just want to get up and go, no faffing around, no worrying about what to wear. Today was one of those days in which I didn't have much time in the morning, yet I still had to face the world and the general public. So I could just throw on a pair of jogging bottoms and t-shirt, which I would normally do if I was staying at home. I had to at least look semi respectable!

On days like this I go for simple styling. I pick up my favourite, versatile black skinny jeans and casual white shirt which doesn't have to be pristinely ironed, just roll the sleeves and let the other creases drop out. I'll grab a pair of white trainers, a watch and rucksack and away I go. A white t-shirt would also work perfect for this outfit...the key is to keep it simple and use that extra 20 minutes that you saved in the morning doing something worthwhile.

Day Style

Natural Selection Jacket

Okay so my Day-to-Night style actually requires a complete change so it's more of a 1 Jacket Styled 2 ways that just so happens to be styled in a way that suits day or night time! This daytime outfit which is probably more suited to a summers day or during a holiday abroad is a fresher, cleaner approach to my previous nighttime style that you can view at the bottom of this post.

This indigo patterned collarless jacket is a part of the Natural Selection SS17 collection and although bold and brave, it is extremely easy to style. With a bold fashion piece of clothing, I would recommend styling it with plain, monochrome or tonal colours...nothing patterned otherwise it would clash with the jacket and nothing too bold in colour because the jacket has to be the stand out piece.

How to Wear a Denim Jacket 5 Ways

Denim jackets can be quite hard to style correctly but looks great when done right. Surprisingly the denim jacket is quite versatile, you'll be wrong to think otherwise. When styling a denim jacket with jeans (double denim), I would recommend wearing a different shade of denim for your jeans so there is a contrast in colour to your denim jacket. Mainly a casual urban look but in look5 I have styled the denim jacket in a formal way to experiment slightly to show you how good it can also looks with a shirt and trousers. Let me know what your favourite look is?

Men's Street Style | Outfit of the Week

Another black outfit, dammit, why do I always wear black? Anyway, I have and the outfit has a few different shades of darkness which blends in well together so therefore is my outfit of the week. Earlier on this week I was supposed to attend the Kong Skull Island, European Film Premiere with boohooMAN, although unfortunately work called and I had to cancel last minute...gutted! Anyway on the plus side, I got this outfit styled from boohooMAN new-in collection.

Two pieces in this outfit stood out to me above the rest, which was the black roll-neck jumper in a thin fabric, which although black is perfect for spring/summer nights out. Then this versatile 3/4 length coat which is only £40 and an incredible buy. Seriously it is one of the, if not the best bargain I have seen for a very long time. The coat is lightweight and with oversized peek lapels it looks great and feels great.

My Weekend Casual Outfit of the Day

Maybe I wear a little too much black, but it is still cool and moody outside so I'm thinking I'll bring a but more colour to my wardrobe in spring and summer. However as we are officially still in winter, dressing in black most days is totally fine, so this outfit of the week is just that, khaki & black, which is a classic, successful colour combination palette. This is what I would typically wear on a weekend when I'm heading out of the house doing life admin stuff, to the odd work event and also meeting up with mates for a beer or two. Casual and comfortable are key aspects when dressing on weekends, so wear what you feel confident in.

This look has been put together styling items that I already had in my wardrobe. The black ripped jeans and flannel plaid shirt and from Maniere de Voir. I'm layering with a khaki tee from Zara, although it is now out of stock online, so in the shop-the-look section, I have replaced it with a different option. The final upper body layer is a black classic overcoat from Antony Morato currently with 50% off for just under £100. My trainers are from National Standard again which are on sale now at £121.

If you like it, shop it.

My Outfit of the Week | Wearing Reiss, Hawkins & Shepherd

I love doing photo shoots in London because you'll turn a corner or enter a building that looks like utter shit outside, yet you'll find some great architecture to shoot up against rather than a brick wall or white house. I mean there is nothing wrong with that, although I personally prefer mixing fashion, architecture and interiors. This shoot was a perfect example of that. I mean, I have to give credit to Kylie as she did a little bit of Instagram stalking and found this location. Little did we know but it was actually a council block of flats, secured with a resident only keypad type door. Although after sneakily following a resident into the flat, social engineering style, we were in, ready to shoot. Although the staircase has recently been painted red of all colours, it still offers an edgy, repetitive backdrop.

On to what I'm wearing in this smart, casual attire which is a mixture of Reiss and Hawkins & Shepherd menswear. The Reiss items are a grey roll-neck jumper, navy trousers and a camel scarf. The Hawkins & Shepherd offerings on this outfit are the black shoes and cashmere blend double-breasted overcoat in navy.

If you like it, shop it.
