Modern Gentleman: Bringing the Outdoor Notes Indoors

Today I'm sharing my thoughts on another candle from DW Home. This one is Modern Gentleman, hand poured with a burn time of circa 33 hours.
DW Home have a knack of naming their candles as if they were designed for Brian Fantana's 70s revolving wall unit. You may have already read my previous review of their Classic Man. I enjoyed that one, although so far nothing has come close to my favourite scented candle, Espresso Martini.
The hype:
Hints of white cedarwood, warm birch and herbaceous greens blend with spiced citrus bergamot and sun-dappled florals amid soft, sensual undertones of musk.
The Jar:
I think the white jar is very chic, and I think the black on white lettering, lid and bordering really make for a neutral, crisp and elegant jar that will suit any home interior.
Is it any good?
It has a very laid back approach. It opens with some offering of citrus and greens. I'm certainly feeling the push of green mandarin and red apple. It's a deft touch and I'm taken back to the Osea Island on an ill-fated press trip for Ciroc Vodka. Of all the trips I'd do again, that one. Ten years ago, last chance saloon with one of the loves of my life. She got so drunk. "Why did you leave?" She asked. I won't go into what she did, the humiliation. Technically it was all my fault trying to relive my youth, recapture that lightning in a bottle.
But that bottle had greens, apple bobbing, those pops of birch that enveloped me as I meandered off through the woods, to the beach to be alone.
The word on the street:
I'm not one for candles really, but I picked this one up on a sale. It's a fantastic smell, not sickly or too overpowering. Highly recommended to make the bedroom smell great. - ALEX.
Final thoughts:
I'm starting to think I can't go anywhere without my candles. My first port of call when I get off the plane is to a home depo store and get a couple for the hotel. A flickering candle adds beautiful light. A lit candle gives off a peaceful, calm vibe. Modern Gentleman is not going to break the bank, and I enjoyed the open outdoor notes, making me feel less cooped up indoors.
I also like how this one transported me, although the overriding memory of that weekend was one of regret.
