Tommy Bahama Grooming Products Review

Today I'm sharing some thoughts on the Tommy Bahama Cooling Shave Gel and Sea and Surf Bar Soap for Men. The shave gel is also from the Sea & Surf range with Eucalyptus & Shea Butter notes. It comes in an interesting squeeze tube bottle that has folds running from top to bottom to give it a hexagonal aesthetic and makes it easier to grip. The plastic cap has a wood grain effect similar to the Blackstone Facial Cleanser and Wash I wrote about in another article.

So is Tommy Bahama an upscale brand or, have they been consigned to the bargain basements of strip malls? I first became aware of Tommy Bahama when James Bond wore a polo in the Jamaica scenes in No Time To Die. *

The hype:

What started as a casual, upscale menswear collection quickly evolved into a unique luxury lifestyle brand. This gel has been developed for a clean, comfortable shave, mild enough for the most sensitive skin.

The Soap comes housed in a very sturdy cardboard presentation box that makes you feel like you're about to open some jewellery, not a soap. You can simplify your routine with the ultimate multi-purpose bar soap designed for your hair (body hair I'm assuming) face and body. Formulated to deeply moisturise, nourish and eliminate dirt and impurities without drying hair or skin.

Any good?

I couldn't wait to try out the shave gel. I love the smell of eucalyptus. In fact a large branch of our neighbour's eucalyptus tree fell into the garden over the weekend. My other half and I trimmed it and made a flower bouquet in our kitchen. (The things you do when you hit middle age). And who doesn't like shea butter?

It lathers up well without being too foamy. The aforementioned Eucalyptus & Shea Butter notes are very present and my skin felt great and the smell was very natural after.

The soap is really a brick to hold. It has the Tommy Bahama logo embossed on the front and you can immediately smell the aquatic notes without even removing the cellophane. It left my skin invigorated and didn't get mushy or dissolve too rapidly.

Buy again?

I will certainly look to invest in more Tommy Bahama grooming products if I come across them. I particularly like the look of the fragrances on their site. I love the bottles designed with the T cleats and rope, drawing inspiration from the pleasure of sailing.
