JACK BLACK | BRITISH GROOMING PRODUCTS TO SHOUT ABOUT

Today I'm going to wax lyrical and fawn unapologetically, borderline sycophantically, over some of the Jack Black grooming products I was recently gifted. Even though they are the #1 best-selling men’s skincare brand in the US, and have been established for over 20 years, I still feel they're the best kept secret in the men’s grooming business.

I'm hoping if the powers that be at Jack Black are reading this, they'll take that with the spirit within its intended.

Here are some of the products I was lucky to receive.

JB™ Eau de Parfum

This JB Eau De Parfum is an all-rounder. The citrusy opening of tangerine notes delivers the elegant promise of an early Spring. And that promise is underscored by the reassuring woody base undertones of Black Amber and Blonde Woods. Overall it's a go-to for any occasion, date night, business lunch, dog walk etc.

It's masculine yet subtle. It's layered, yet not convoluted. The black pepper notes comes with echoes of traditional barbershop smells - which also come with a slight sense of nostalgia and longing.

What's more important though, is that I'm getting a lot of compliments from Tuula. Less so from Charlie but if you're pleasing everyone, you're pleasing no one.

Black Reserve™ Body Spray with Cardamom & Cedarwood

Let’s also take a quick time out to mention the sleek packaging. The black and rose gold labelling look irrefutably premium. And with a little subtle neon blue. I have a special place in my heart for good logos and good graphic design (one doffs one's hat JB).

This body spray is a compendium of all things I wish to project when I enter a room. Assurance, confidence and approachability. The Bergamot and Lavender is a soothing base, that welcomes people into my space. There is deep earthy masculine notes in the Cedarwood and Leather Accord that is intriguing and has a magnetism. I like to wear this to bed.

Black Reserve™ Body & Hair Cleanser with Cardamom & Cedarwood

After Tuula butchered my mop last week, this hair cleanser is to my hair what comfort food is to recently dumped teenage girls. The most important element for me to leave the skin feeling clean without over drying.

For some reason this is the biggest downfall for most hair and body cleansers. However, I'm relieved to say after numerous washes and applications, my skin and hair are sufficiently soothed. Not only does it smell great but the blend of natural, sulphate-free agents effectively cleanses the skin and hair without stripping essential moisture.

This is a welcome addition to my showering routine and is an absolute must-have and a little bit goes a long way. It lathers up easy enough and leaves me squeaky clean and refreshed.

Protein Booster Eye Rescue with Peptides, Antioxidants & Organic Omega-3

Now arguably, for the most important part. For any man on the back nine of their 30s. In one of the feedback comments I saw this Eye Rescue anti-ageing cream has been reviewed glowingly and utilised by men of all ages.

I'm very pleased with the results after 2 weeks. It hasn't drastically reduced any baggage under my eyes but I have noticed a small dent in the smile lines. Unlike some eye cream I can actually feel this enliven the skin around my eyes on application. Some eye cream just feels a bit whimsy and greasy. This really enriches my skin and this feels like the best armament to hold back those dreaded crow’s feet. All products by Jack Black there is no animal testing involved at all.

Summary

Some amazing products from Jack Black. It feels good to champion homegrown talent and brands. Also ethically sourced and manufactured. The hardest thing I found in this review was to find any room for critique. I can't find anything that wouldn't involve me splitting heirs. I can't recommend Jack Black enough and wish them every success.
