Jasmine Santal by Leoben Company - The Firepit Candle

It's that time of day again, when I think to myself, how can I make the house even hotter during a heat wave. I know, I'll light a candle. Today I'm firing up the Jasmine Santal by the Leoben Company. Any regular readers of the blog know I'm a huge fan of the Santal note, I even wrote a blog on my top 5 Santal Fragrances.
In that blog I wrote,
But what does Santal smell like? It smells like you are coming out of a shower,” according to Joya founder Frederick Bouchardy of Composition No. 1, which blends fresh florals with creamy scents like musk and sandalwood.
This one is fused with Jasmine which gives it a very 'secret garden' feel. It has a warm approach, subtle and incredibly inviting. Within minutes the aroma consumes the lounge and I'm transported to a more innocent and corruptible time in my life. Early 20s, 2am, someone's house
party (not mine). Have you noticed how good looking people can be when they smile by the firepit? Of course the good looking boy is playing guitar, and all the other girls are listening in complete awe.
The smell of jasmine is all around me. Yet the Sandal evens everything out. It affords the jasmine to stretch its legs.
The jar is a nice ornament on its own to have on one's shelf. A decorative label, with greens and pink roses framing the text. The dogs are slouched over my legs and everything has come to an abrupt but welcome halt.
There are no tasks that need doing. This day will not go down in the annals of time as one that I need to remember. Only that I existed, and my mind was empty and clear. A candle is just the tonic for these quiet moments of impassivity.
My mind ferrets back to the garden party, and a friend offers me something in the form of a pill that I take without question or objection. Now the tranquility of the night is gone. The stillness has shifted into an agitated screech of anxious thoughts and implosive paranoia, and the morning after just got a whole lot harder. Shaw was right, How youth is wasted on the young.
