Leather Flannel CA Candle C: Review

Here comes another candle review. This time I took a punt on the Leather Flannel from LeoBen. Absolutely zero information about this candle online and the website is under maintenance. This however, was a purchase from Marshalls, as I'm sure you've come accustomed to already. I only buy candles from strip malls.
The LeoBen range rarely disappoints and thankfully this one is another banger. With notes of Leather, Thyme and Vetiver.
It has a curious blend of old school pre-#MeToo-manliness about it. Leather for men in their 40s has a whole other connection to masculinity than men in their 20s. I still remember the smell of leather from sitting in my old man's Daimler. That's what leather does to a man in his mid 40s. It fills him with nostalgia and strength.
The Thyme takes away the threat of the leather which is a shame. But the neutrality allows it to be more accessible. It's almost like inviting that really gorgeous red-head to your birthday party only for her to turn up with her not-invited nor aforementioned boyfriend that everyone seems to like more than you. (Nice analogy Carl).
This candle was intended for the garage or the gym, but has since been relegated to the doorway.
Then the Vetiver pummels through the back of them with the unexpected verve of a 7-10 split. (One for you bowling fans). Vetiver has a woody-lemongrass base that brings it all home. It has both the other scents in a headlock and successfully grapples it to the floor.
An unusual concoction. Initially I was a bit bummed out that the leather had been emasculated by the citrusy Thyme. But my blood levels soon receded with the Vetiver that proved LeoBen has a method in their madness. What they don't have is a functioning website or a place where you can pick up this candle online.
So make sure you keep an eye out for it in Marshalls or Five Below. Alternatively, come round to mine, just poke your nose through the letterbox and I'll light it up for you.
