Rock Face Facial Wash | The Best of the Entry Level?

Rock Face Facial Wash | The Best of the Entry Level?

Here we go again with another review of a Facial Wash. Look, it's important to look after the boat race ok? When you get to my age you wish you started it sooner.

This week I've integrated the Rock Face Facial Wash into my regime. Its packaging is playful, with vibrant colours of green white and orange. Although someone should tell that their content team has no idea on how to spell "alcohol". Check out the URL.

The Hype

Made with Pro Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E to help replenish and nourish skin. Get invigorated, energised skin everyday with their fresh citrus Face Wash. Effective formulas with none of the hassle.

My thoughts

It certainly screams citrus. Albeit a synthetic kind. Not the Borough Market fruit stand kind. More like that feeling in the back of your throat once you've downed an entire pack of Opal Fruits. Or Star Bursts as they're called now. What happened to those by the way? Opal Fruits were renamed Starburst in 1998 to standardise the name globally, thus making a saving by avoiding the need to develop separate marketing materials for different regions.

The trouble

It's an entry level product, and it looks, feels and smells entry level. That's not to say it doesn't have its place, only if you have the budget to upgrade to an American Crew or Nivea then do so. I have, so I do. I'll be honest I was in a pinch on the way out of the airport and needed something to freshen up before my client meeting. I paid for this in an outlet, had a quick spruce up in the Gents and felt more presentable after.

This is very much a product for the younger generation, and hasn't the elegance or sophistication for anyone serious about their grooming habits. Plus as previously alluded to, it looks like it was made for teenagers.

Isn't facial wash just facial wash?

No, not really. Aside from the omission of alcohol, there are no other non-drying ingredients. As much as I semi-enjoyed the citrus smell, one should really seek out fragrance-free, hypoallergenic cleansers with soothing ingredients like aloe vera or chamomile, and avoid harsh chemicals like alcohol, parabens, and sulfates.

Word on the street

Although a rather small you do get two and more importantly it lathers up very well and feels clean and fresh . Now use this everyday and can heartily recommend it. Amazon
