Superdry Jackets Through the Years | Men's Style Advice

Today I'm going to wax lyrical on my latest Superdry brown puffer jacket, aptly called the Everest jacket. From the photos you can tell that I've styled this with an all-black outfit underneath. A cashmere black sweat top and straight cut trousers. To punctuate the look I've opted for some contrast panelled tan and white trainers.

The Superdry Everest Jacket is inspired by the great outdoors, taking inspiration from vintage athletic designs. An emblem of adventure, exploration, and craftsmanship, it is insulated with 100% recycled polyester padding to provide extra warmth in cooler climates.

This is my 4th Superdry jacket I’ve owned through the years, my first was the Superdry Windcheater, an absolute classic. Next to enter my wardrobe and still makes an appearance on my Instagram page from time-to-time is the Superdry Moto Leather Jacket. This jacket gets better with age. Next came a beautifully tailored overcoat, it’s a deep bottle green colour, a wool, smart coat, perfect to wear in autumn/winter to the office. As a wearer through the years of Superdry, one thing that has stayed true to the Superdry brand is the quality of their garments. Fashion is a choice, it is subjective, what I like you might not, what is my style may not be yours. But quality is quality and Superdry is undeniably exceptional in price vs the standard of their clothing.

I'm convinced that we skip Autumn and Spring in this country and just go straight into Winter for 9 months of the year. Many of you might be thinking you only need a couple of long coats in your wardrobe. Whilst that could be true, if you're a dog walker in London and you're facing the elements every day, you need a variety of coats for a variety of different kinds of cold. There is early morning frost cold. There are severe cutting winds cold. Let's not forget all kinds of rain cold. Putting on the same coat everyday doesn't do much to enhance your mood I can tell you.

Puffer jackets are athleisure at heart. I wouldn't advise wearing puffer jackets to a smart event where you're looking to make an impression, there are much better styles for that (the Superdry Overcoat for example). However, there is so much to be said for having jackets that can handle your day to day affairs. Styling brown jackets is actually much easier than you might imagine because it limits your choices to black or white. Some people might go off-piste and put a burnt orange roll neck under a light brown/ tan jacket, which is of course their prerogative. Personally, I think the white Henley or a black shirt, compliments the look the most.

The puffer jacket can be quite a statement piece, outside of Sam Smith's inflatable costume at the Brits just recently, it's one of the most 3D-looking garments you can wear. The girls tend to over casualise a puffer jacket for my liking. They see fit to pair a long puffer jacket with yoga pants or baggy loungewear. Do not fall into the same trap. The Puffer Jacket is casual enough and if anything, you should contrast it with some block coloured staples, like a henley, a chambray shirt and chinos or dark unwashed denim.

Trainers or sneakers will accentuate the casual nature of this Superdry Jacket, but don't cross too many streams with the logos. As you can see my trainers are devoid of any branding, because there is already patches and motifs on the Superdry Puffer itself. Subtle enough not to stand out, but interesting enough to give your look a little flavour.
