Personalised Gifts Ideas Perfect for Father’s Day

Carrying on with my series of Father's Day gifting ideas. I really wanted to take it up a notch and offer something quite unique to my Dad this year. Last year you might have seen my campaign with London Sock Company back in 2018 where I sent on some gifts along with a minute of personalised video for my Dad to receive. I loved this idea of offering something thoughtful and practical. In this article I'm going to drill down on that theme and share some more research on gifts that offer a personalised option.

TATEOSSIAN Monogrammed Bracelet

My first thought went straight to a conversation I had with my friend Pete Brooker over at From Tailors With Love. He once showed me his monogrammed Tateossian bracelet and I fell in love with it. In fact it gave me some inspiration to include that application for the next line (in the works) of my own jewellery brand Dion Dreyes. You can find more information about personalised jewellery bracelets over on their website

Historic Newspapers

A neat and novel idea this. Who wouldn't be interested in seeing the newspaper from their birthdate? I know I would. Although I would like to have the choice of newspaper. Perhaps the Sunday Sport, which boasted all the best headlines like, 'Gazza on the Razza whilst Shazza has his Bazza'. The Newspapers come in a gift box and if you get in there quick there is a discount code for Father's Day on their website, read all about it

Quirkaboo

Ok so stay with me here. This is a company that converts 3d figurines from photos or images. Whilst I don't think my Dad would be too onboard with the idea of having himself reimagined as a miniature, I'm thinking what about his idols? Maybe an obscure actor or character from The Magnificent Seven? Perhaps another relative. Hell what about me? He can have a mini-me on his night stand and give me a mini high five when he gets out of bed in the morning. I'm spit-balling here people. However, the idea has legs. Just very small ones. Check out the options on the Quirkaboo page

What to do with all those photos? Scrapbooking?

This one will take a little longer to do. However, in a digital world, there is something still very rewarding about opening up a scrap book of photos and feeling the hand of the print and the paper. I've started looking into scrapbooking as a means to back up some of my digital memories. I have a tonne of photos of Charlie and Chips on my phone but simply printing of the top 4-5 on glossy photo paper and sticking them into a scrapbook, actually unloads my mind as well as my phone. I know I can reach to those memories rather than doom-scrolling through my library. Warning it can be time consuming, but if you're interested be sure to check out this tutorial on YouTube for beginners inspiration. If you'd rather get the professionals do it for you then you can upload the photos to a site called Milk Book and they print out a coffee table book with text and designs of your choosing.

You can also flip that idea and digitize all the old photos your Dad might have lying around. You can then upload up to a 10,000 digital photos to a Photo Frame and have that play on a loop. I found one on Amazon.

Drawings

Ok so as you can imagine I'm coming up a little short in ideas for this one. I don't want to crap out all the usual engraving brands out there. I think the bracelet idea I gave up top is the most elegant version of that. I was thinking about getting a professional drawing done of Charlie for my Dad. I'm sure Dad would prefer one of Charlie rather than me. And with that in mind who else better to commission a drawing than Tuula. She does fashion and beauty mainly but can turn her hand to anything and regularly takes on quirky commissions for bespoke clients. Enquire within and check out her portfolio on her instagram.
