Best Watches for Swimming & Diving

Today I want to share my research and some thoughts on the Best Watches for Swimming and Diving. These findings are based on searches for luxury watches that prioritise the criteria for performance with regards to swimming and diving. Needless to say that performance will need to show quality in underwater conditions, but also look a little sexy too. Here is a run-down of Best Watches for Swimming and Diving in no discernible order.

OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m Automatic Men’s Watch

Designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this legendary collection, this high-performance OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m Automatic Men’s Watch is the ultimate diver’s watch.

If you're a fan of the modern cinematic James Bond you'll know all about the Seamaster 300m. When swimming and diving I'm conscious that wearing a watch of this quality will get banged and scraped. This watch has scratch-resistant sapphire crystal which make it elegant and durable.

Available for £4,550 through Beaverbrooks

Rolex Submariner

Well we mentioned briefly the modern cinematic Bond, but what about classic Roger Moore/Lazenby and Connery Bond who all wore Rolexes. Not only that, Fleming's Bond was also partial to a Rolex Date Adjustable. Which makes sense as he himself loved diving off the shores in his holiday home in Goldeneye, Jamaica.

This Rolex Submariner Date comes with a 40 mm stainless steel case and a sapphire glass. The product specs do not indicate the depth that it is waterproof, nor does it intimate the fact it comes with a helium release valve. (Which Rolex invented). However, it's a statement piece, in or out of the water.

Available for £12,000 through Bucherer.

IWC Aquatimer 'Galapagos Islands' 44mm Mens Watch

The IWC Aquatimer collection calls upon over 50 years’ experience in the development and production of professional diver’s watches, delivering high-performance models that have been engineered for the sea.

Water resistant to an incredible 300 metres and powered by an IWC manufactured automatic self-winding movement, this IWC Aquatimer Galapagos Islands Chronograph Edition watch will allow you to keep track of time in style, on land and beneath the waves.

I'm choosing this one because I have a mania for IWC watches and this one has a brutalist-elegance that appeals to the wanton rugged nature in me.

Available for £9,000 through Mappin & Webb

Breitling Endurance Pro

Another connection to James Bond is the Breitling brand. You can find out which film and all the information on my friend's site, From Tailors With Love

This Breitling Endurance Pro is very much on trend with its colour, our Endurance Pro is inspired by the Breitling Sprint, a memorable watch from the 1970s that combined a pulsometer with an impressively light weight. This new chronograph is the ultimate athleisure watch for men and women and weaves together innovative technology with high precision movements and features. It is the perfect choice for those who want a piece that will keep up with their active lifestyles, but that is stylish enough for everyday wear.

I've picked this one out because it's the most accessibly priced and I'm a fan of the huge Arabic numerals. It gives this watch it's X Factor.

Available for £2,550 through Goldsmiths

TAG Heuer AquaRacer

How could I write a watch listicle and not include TAG HEUER.

The 45mm grade 5 titanium case of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver has a crown protector and helium escape valve to handle 1000M of depth. I'm enraptured by the black sunray brushed dial has large indexes and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, as well as all the markings on the bezel to ensure visibility when it matters.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Superdiver comes equipped with a custom protective case featuring orange details and a backup light to help you raise the bar.

Available for £5,550 through Watches of Switzerland
