ORIGINS SKINCARE GROOMING PRODUCTS – THE GINZING RANGE

I actually went out and bought some Skincare products the other day. I know, there are comets more common than this. However, I had it on good authority that this moisturiser by Origins was on a parallel to the holy grail of moisturisers, the Lime & Mandarin moisturiser by Aesop.

So I picked up a Ginzing Energy Boosting Oil-Free Gel Moisturiser by Origins, and whilst I was there, the refreshing Scrub Cleanser and Refreshing Eye Cream. The moisturiser is described as an oil-free, energy-boosting gel moisturiser formulated to help wake up dull, tired & lackluster skin with 72-hour hydration.

Upon application I'm relieved in equal parts that I haven't squandered my money and my friends reputation for only recommending the best has been further cemented. It spreads, not thickly, not evenly, but soothingly. It smells like the AESOP but isn't as rich. It still smells like I've dipped my face into a sensual citrus skin soothing spa, tailor made for my every line, every pore. It delivers a fresh sheen and once applied I feel like my face is covered by a translucent film, and underneath there are a million and one miniature geysers spraying every square millimetre of cheeks and forehead with freshly squeezed mandarins plucked straight from the groves of the Californian vine. This doesn't have the SPF40 factor, which I didn't know was available until I did some further digging on the brands website. It's more expensive of course, but I will be getting some in due course as SPF is important, even when the sun isn't out.

The Eye Refreshing cream has a different colour, and a thinner texture as you'd expect. It smells more like affected perfume, and spreads very quickly, and not together that absorbingly. It's still great. But not good enough to dislodge my Banana Bright Eye Creme from Ole Henriksen, which I've replenished 3 times over since having sampled one a few months ago. The Truth Serum range is expensive, but if you want to treat yourself to something luxury then ... you can read my review here.

Of course, I've done a few things backwards and not used the facial scrub first. So I wait eagerly for the morning to road test the Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser. I should say I'm experimenting with making my own coffee scrub cleanser (more to come on that later) so I was looking forward to this particular experiment.

This cleanser is a 2 in 1 scrubby cleanser fortified with radiance-boosting Panax Ginseng and energising Coffee Beans. Natural Jojoba and Carnauba Wax gently exfoliate to help unclog pores. My skin felt brighter and smoother and the experience was heightened by the uplifting aroma of Grapefruit, Lemon and Spearmint.
