SOAK SUNDAY INTRODUCES 3 NEW BODY BUTTERS

It's a rare occasion that I get the time to enjoy a bath. I've even tampered with the idea of removing it entirely and creating more space in my bathroom. However, since Tuula has moved in she's been reaping the benefits of the bath tub and I'm slowly coming around to the idea of having one as a rare treat. Typically I get agitated sitting in the bath knowing there is so much to be done. I say to Tuula you always complain you have so little time to get things done, yet you can spend over 30 minutes sitting in a bath, a further 30 minutes drying your hair and so on.

She tells me I've got it all wrong. She's not just simply sitting in the bath, she is meditating on things she can improve on once she gets out of the bath. We get to relax in front of the tele sometimes. Sure. We go for walks, that’s all fine. But we don't get to fully block out the outside world, and really internalise. What are my goals? Am I heading in the right direction? Am I doing everything in my power to better myself mentally and physically? Should I take Mo Salah out of my Fantasy Football team before he gets drafted to the African Cup of Nations in January? (Yes I like to think small to big sometimes).

So now I'm invested in having at least one bath a week, and whilst I'm there I may as well make the most of it. Salts, Sigur Rós or Max Richter on the playlist, candles, the full monty. Literally and figuratively. After 30 minutes of sitting in a warm tub of water, and after my body and mind has transcended through the gruel, wilderness and marshy-muck that is my subconscious, it's time to get out and apply the finishing touches. Of late, Tuula and I have been road-testing three new body butters from British owned and made brand Soak Sunday, in collaboration with The Tape Agency.

Available in 3 scents, Cleo's Paradise, Midnight Storm and Rose Utopia, cocoon your body in nourishing softness and restore skin & mind with these intensely hydrating and indulgently fragrant butters. With a Candle and Botanical Bath Soak to create a full routine of indulgence, pair with our exclusive Meditation Session led by Claudia Mirallego.

The products themselves have a very retro feel with the typewriter font. Confession it's one of my favourite fonts and damn it to hell if I don't need to get myself an actual typewriter soon. Nothing beats those personal thank you notes hammered from an actual typewriter. The imagery strong and the bottles are sturdy and look elegant on my shelf. There is a sustainability pledge that you can also find on the Soak Sunday website that talks about eradicating virgin plastic and committing to refillable bottles by 2022. All good stuff. The body butters themselves are fantastic. Tuula and I are smelling amazing around the house on the weekends. We both agree Rose Utopia is our favourite but that’s maybe because Tuula has Rose in her name so loves any product or candle with rose in it. Below is some descriptions of the Body Butters to get your senses riled.
