Daniel Craig goes back to British Bespoke for The Golden Globes 2020

I know I'm hardly first to the party with this one, however I still wanted to highlight some of my favourite outfits from The Golden Globes 2020. Daniel Craig was wearing a 6 x 2 Anderson and Sheppard double breasted tuxedo, marcella dress shirt, thistle bow tie and plain cotton pocket square all from Budd Shirtmakers. I dropped a line to Pete Brooker over at From Tailors With Love to get his take on this.

I love the bespoke look and this is simply the best we've seen him in black tie for a long time. His last outing on the red carpet was the cause of much derision. He wore that 'Natch suit' from Dior which I thought was alright, many thought it accentuated his 'barrel-ness'.

'I haven't seen Daniel Craig in Anderson Sheppard before and I'm just so happy, yet also a little melancholy, that we could have seen him look this emphatic much earlier had he and the costume department opted for British Bespoke instead of Tom Ford.'

Much like James Bond, he is wearing Crockett and Jones Alex shoes in Black Calf. His watch was the Omega speedmaster automatic chronometer in rose gold.

It's nice to see him rock the Gold Speedmaster also. Perhaps a little bulky for the suit but it makes a change. Most of the feedback I've seen are in great praise of the look. Some have referred it to the Brunello Cucinelli 1, 1/2 pseudo double breasted look.

Matt Spaiser from Bond Suits (yes there is a blog that has been running for nearly ten years dedicated to The Suits of James Bond) says 'It’s refreshing to see him in British bespoke again, though James Bond creator Ian Fleming might not have approved of the tailor. Fleming would be happy to see that their cut is not as relaxed as it used to be. He looks like James Bond in this.'

Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan a midnight blue textured silk-wool blend Armani Tuxedo whilst his sons Dylan and Paris went more classic with the Black.

Typically Brosnan wears Brioni to red carpet events. Brioni tailored Pierce Brosnan in all his appearances as James Bond, and also Daniel Craig in Casino Royale before Tom Ford took over as the films sponsor.

Brad Pitt is a new ambassador for Brioni and he wore a bespoke three-piece mohair tuxedo, white cotton shirt and black silk bow tie.

Current James Bond clothier Tom Ford dressed Tom Hanks in a shawl collar Midnight Blue velvet tuxedo with a signature barchetta breast pocket and gauntlet cuffs complimented by a batwing bow tie and studded white shirt.
