Seiko Analog Quartz: Watch Review

Today I'm taking a closer look at the Seiko Analog Quartz, which is a. Seiko Men's Analogue Quartz Watch with Stainless Steel Strap. I'm unsure if the title is a misspelling on Amazon but I'll leave a link to it here so you can find out more about it.
First impressions are that the watch has a decent dial face. The face is embossed with a 3d effect and reminds me of the innards of a circuit board. There is a little fluorescent yellow on the strap either side of the lugs and the colour also features on the second hand. Which brings it out of the darkness somewhat.
The back is brushed stainless steel, parts of the casing are brushed and others are polished which is semi-confusing. That would have been better to be one or the other.
The 39mm case sizing is probably a little too small for my liking, but I would say that the wife liked it and the slight curvature on the lugs make for a better fit on my wrist.
The crown is also ribbed for ease of winding. The datejust can be a little hard to find but that's because it's only uni-directional. I've found most people say the strap is too stiff, others have said it looks cheap and they've swapped it out entirely.
For me this is a very casual watch, reflected in the price point, so I'm not too fussy with the strap and think it’s fit for purpose.
Word on the street:
I wouldn't say it's quite as spectacular on the wrist as it is on a close-up photo, but that can be said of a lot of watches. - Amazon
Fun Fact:
In the fire that followed the Great Kantō Earthquake of 1923, a pile of Seiko pocket watches awaiting service was melted into a molten glob by the extreme heat. Looking like an abstract sculpture – with a strong air of Dalí surrealism – it’s now on show in the museum. - Time and Tide Watches
Conclusion:
Most people can be quite sniffy these days about quartz watches. We've even got all the way digital with Apple Watches, or all the way mechanical. But for me you get what you pay for with this watch. It looks stylish, non-flashy, not too bulky but big enough to make a statement.
