ARMY SPORT men's designer cologne by MCH Beauty Fragrances

Today I want to share some thoughts on another exclusive Strip Mall fragrance purchase, Army Sport by Mirage Brands. My expectations are fairly low due to the very bland name. But I was quite intrigued by the long-bodied bottle. Unusual, but let's give it a whirl.

The Hype:

A captivating blend of aromatic, fresh spicy, and woody citrus notes. A versatile scent features a harmonious combination of mint, bergamot, lavender, musk, and amber, creating a refreshing and long-lasting outdoor-inspired fragrance. Elevate your daily routine with this sophisticated and affordable cologne.

The Bottle:

I like the weight, the feel. Black glass with distressed silver lettering. The black ribbed cap is accented by a red warning coloured tip. Plasticky as expected, but fine. Very minimalist, doesn't take up much real estate on the shelf.

The Opening:

Quite hot, aromatic. Not luxury, and a bit minty. It's quite pleasant at the same time not overly captivating. Feels like late night wearing. The bergamot is very present, and it vacillates with a shrug of its shoulders between the amber and the musk.

Settle down:

I came back after ten minutes and was greeted with more mint, some lavender. It has a dozey effect. I'm not sure why lavender is an active fragrance. With a name like ARMY SPORT I want to be doing press ups after smelling it, not taking a nap. Still it's not a bad smelling fragrance, just poorly marketed and a little bit confusing.

Dry Down:

I almost forgot to come back to this fragrance. It certainly left no remark, but on my return, it had fizzled into that generic manly fragrance. Little citrusy, little woodsy. Dare I say a bit too sweet, perhaps overdoing the amber and musk. It's like that first date, that you both wish you could return to, and just do something different, whilst being yourself. That lost kiss at the end of the night, the red hair running away in the wind. How awkward it will be on our next chance encounter. How I'll miss getting those stares from you across the bar, and how I regret telling you all my secrets. What will you tell your friends about me? I won't be that vulnerable with the next girl, maybe any girl. These are the promises you make.

Where to wear:

Unfortunately I can't place any specific event, I would give this one away. Typical stocking filler for the nephew. My low expectations were met, can you get any more generic than Army Sport?
