Best Luxury Gaming Head Phones: 6 Of The Best

Today I'm going to share some of my research notes on Gaming Headphones. I'm in the market to upgrade my existing headphones into something that dovetails the benefits of looking cool and sounding great. I'll be appreciative of anyone that can recommend some alternatives, please DM me on my Instagram

AKG HSC 271 Headset

The professional over-ear, closed headset is a standard for intercom, ENG/EFP work and video production. It is based on the successful K271 MKII Studio headphones combined with a high-performance condenser microphone.

Encouraged by this review by one user - "Great for gaming when used with an interface if a headset mic is required. Mic and headphones sound great in static use".

The flexible microphone arm mutes the microphone automatically as it is moved up. The microphone can be mounted to the left or right side, depending on personal preference and available space. Available at AKG.COM currently for $275.

Master & Dynamic MG20 headphones

When researching BEST GAMING HEADPHONES I noticed the forums put a strong emphasis on surround sound. These MG20 headphones come equipped with bold 7.1 surround sound, angled magnesium ear cups and semi-open acoustics to create a balance that mimics a soundstage. Available through MR.PORTER.COM for £430.

Bang & Olufsen BEOPLAY PORTAL Gaming headset

The award winning B&O Portal for Xbox, which they have now brought out for PlayStation and PC. Whilst I haven't yet for an encyclopaedic grasp of the tech specs, I do know that the battery life is imperative for gamers when choosing headphones.  Portal for Xbox gives you up to 12 hours of play using wireless, Bluetooth and ANC. Available from BANG-OLUFSEN.COM for £449.

Razer Blackskark V2

Included in the listicle The best gaming headsets in 2022 by Dave James from PC GAMER, and on my Wishlist.

The 50mm TriForce Titanium drivers are designed with discrete ports to separate bass, mid, tremble tones from interfering with each other. The result is a richer sound and keeps it on par with HyperX's 50mm dual-chamber neodymium driver headset.

The $100 price point is not a big financial ask for anyone who wants a quality gaming headset.

The HyperX Cloud Mix

Included in the listicle 17 Best High-End Gaming Headsets: The Ultimate List on Heavy.COM, and on my Wishlist.

One thing that can't be underestimated when buying headphones for any reason, is comfort. I'm encouraged by the review of how comfortable these headphones are. If you’re after the best high-end gaming headset that offers comfort as well as quality audio, at an accessible price then, look no further than the HyperX Cloud Mix. £150 on AMAZON.

Creative SXFI Gamer

Included in the listicle Best gaming headsets 2022: high fidelity headphones for immersive gaming, by Robert Jones and Yasmine Crossland for T3.COM, and on my Wishlist.

Not every pair of headphones needs to be wireless. Whilst I appreciate this might not be on the luxury end of the spectrum, I wanted to give a nod to these headphones and the groovy tech that comes with the ergonomic audio design. Audio custom designed to the individual shape of your ears. Best described in the review,

Using your phone you take a couple of photos of your ears (bear with us here), and a few clever algorithms then tune the sound coming out of the headphones to specifically match the shape of your head and ears.

Available on AMAZON £64.99.

Gamers, I'd love to hear from you. What Gaming Headphones do you recommend and why?
