Creating a Transitional Wardrobe This Autumn/Winter 2020

Today I’m going to talk about why now’s the time to create a transitional wardrobe as we move into the autumn and winter seasons months where the weather can be extremely changeable. As I live in London and limited on space, I tend to have different wardrobes for 6 months at a time. Pattern shirts are out, and knitwear, jackets and layering are in. However, there are transitional pieces of clothing that span across the majority of the year.

Personally, I’m not a massive fan of logo or motif t-shirts. If we’re talking about a transitional wardrobe and also thinking a little about our bank account, picking up a 3 pack of basic tees from very.co.uk at only £16 is a great budget option. In this essentials pack, you’ll get black, white and grey t-shirts in crew or v neck collars. Personally, I’ve gone up a size and chosen the regular fitting because for the cooler months, you’ll be layering underneath other clothing such as knitwear or over-shirts and therefore I didn’t really want these t-shirts tight or muscle fit.

The next item that I have chosen for my transitional wardrobe was a grey cable knitted crew neck jumper by Superdry in a grey hue. Superdry always offer great quality knitwear for the price and this grey jumper is only £55, I’ve seen jumpers double or triple the price and have not felt as luxurious as this one. For me I went up a size as the cable knit can be quite tight and given that I’ll be wearing it in autumn and winter, I wanted it to be more of a cosy fit. I’m usually a medium but ordered a large.

I’ve saved the majority of my budget for a Barbour jacket because when you have to do a twice-daily dog walk, you need a Barbour jacket. They fit perfectly, they look stylish, they protect you from the weather elements with it’s waterproof outer-layer and finally the design is great with lots of pockets for dog treats, poo bags, keys, phone – you name it!

So, what do you think of my transitional wardrobe this autumn/winter seasons? Go take a look at the menswear at very.co.uk because they have a huge range of seasonal men’s fashion across so many top brands such as Barbour, Superdry, Nike, Levi’s, BOSS, allsaints and many more. Pick a whole new wardrobe and pay for one delivery rather than buying individual pieces on different websites.
