If you're looking for top romantic places in London this Christmas, then look no further than these skating rinks. Yes the rinks are quite popular (naturally for this time of year) but this is one place where you'll be thankful of a crowd as it creates a great atmosphere.

It's a guaranteed way to make her laugh, either when she falls into your arms, vica versa or some obnoxious little brat face plants the ice.

Here for you are my four best London Skating rinks to try out this Christmas.

Skate at Somerset House

One of London’s most beautiful ice rink is Somerset House, transforming the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court into a winter oasis, and ushering in the festive season with a 40ft Christmas tree.

TIP: Go one further and treat your date to some Black Cherry Bellini cocktails, topped up with Fortnum’s Champagne. Check out the site for more details on reservations

Winter Wonderland

Yes you guessed it, it's UK’s largest outdoor ice rink! Located around Hyde Park’s Victorian bandstand under a canopy of sparkling lights.

Live music from the bandstand provides the perfect atmosphere while you skate. Or if you can't persuade her to get out on the ice, don't worry. Get a warm mulled wine and cuddle up on the spectator’s platform.

TIP: Bring some cash. You're not allowed to take your camera out on to the ice so you'll need to put that and any bags in a locker for £1.

Natural History Museum

A true thrill and slice of magical wonderment can be found at the Natural History Museum Skate rink.  All the surrounding trees are bejazzled with fairy lights nestled in frost-covered trees. Your senses will be serenaded with the miasma of mulled wine in the air.

TIP: Runs until Jan 12th and you can book your tickets online here. From 9am to 11pm most days.

Hampton Palace

Situated in the gardens of Henry VIII’s historic home. This open-air ice rink offers you the chance to glide across the ice under a star-covered sky while surrounded by spectacular views of the historic Tudor palace.

TIP: Hampton Palace recommends that all sessions are pre-booked online to avoid disappointment and avoid queues on site at busy periods. Tickets can be printed at home from the online system
