For those folk who have already soured through the entirety of The Queen's Gambit and all 4 seasons of The Crown, you might be thinking it's time to get out. But what Social Distanced Things can we do in London this Christmas?

I've put together a handy list that you might find useful, and if anyone is interested in doing one of these with me please DM me on Instagram.

Southwark Christmas Market

At the Southwark Cathedral Christmas Market you'll find unique and beautifully crafted gifts for your friends and family this Christmas. Many of the products have been hand crafted and are fairly traded.

This event is held in a marquee to the north side of the Cathedral, entrance is free of charge.

Netherland Fulham

This place looks the nails. A perfect slice of escapism in London's magical Alpine paradise. There you'll enjoy hot mulled wine around the fire pit or dram of Johnnie Walker black. Groove to our DJ tunes or chill on a sofa at their alpine club.

Winterland is a Covid-Secure Covered Alpine Club with a Cocktail Bar, Gin Bar, Restaurant and perfect as an Event Party Venue. At the time of writing this tables and spaces are limited so get in quick.

Have a roast dinner in front of a log fire at the Avalon Clapham

In the words of The Times “This handsome red-brick boozer might be London’s ultimate family-friendly alfresco pub, with three outdoor spaces: a chilled courtyard area, a buzzy terrace, and a main garden, with its stunning planting scheme.”

It's my personal hang out and romantic as-heck.

Street Performers in Covent Garden

No pandemic is going to stop these guys. The first record of Covent Garden street entertainment came in 1662, when Samuel Pepys’ diary notes that a marionette show featuring a character named Punch took place on the Piazza. Today, the custom continues. They need your support more than ever, brave the cold and get involved.

See the Christmas lights and grab some Chestnuts from the Oxford St Vendors

If I were on Family Fortunes and the question was asked, what reminds you of Christmas? My first response would be chestnuts on Oxford Street. My second would be Brussel Sprouts and my third would be Brussel Sprout smelling farts. Although I think you could technically combine answer 2,3.

Ice Skating at Hampton Court Palace 2020 ice rink

While the Somerset House Ice Rink has been cancelled, the Hampton Court Palace 2020 ice rink is going ahead at time of writing.

Take to the ice against the backdrop of King Henry VIII's historic home. If you've also caught Holmes & Watson on Netflix recently you'll notice the football scenes were filmed there. Choose to skate by day and enjoy views of the palace, or go at night to see its festive illuminations.

Support local businesses via Christmas Shopping locally

Yes I must bang this drum. The high street needs your help more than ever. I know it's easy to click and collect everything on Amazon these days, but it gets to be a soulless experience. Plus, if you're shopping in places like Debenhams or Top Man please remember to be respectful to the staff who have an uncertain future ahead of them.

Night time walks along the Thames

I love walking from Vauxhall to Battersea Park. I know walking along the Thames is not exclusive to Christmas, but the Thames is beautiful this time of year. You'll find all sorts of creative decorations from Christmas-lit bridges (Chelsea bridge is stunning) to impromptu firework displays (Chiswick boasts many of these).
