MONDAINE OFFICIAL SWISS RAILWAY WATCH | MY ULTIMATE TRAVEL WATCH

Back with another Watch Review. This one is the Mondaine Official Swiss Railway Watch, I actually bought this in Gibraltar as a bit of a whimsical gift. But also a nice souvenir of our holiday there. The wife and I used to travel to Switzerland a lot for her work and we'd go everywhere by train. And along all the platforms they had these Mondaine clocks. They stood out a mile and the minimalist design was perfect for railway clocks as you could tell the time from a great distance.

And it's true when you look at this watch on your wrist, immediately you know the time. Originally I got this because I didn't want to travel with my Oris Divers 65. It's sapphire crystal, Quartz movement, lollipop second hand and you'll notice hopefully the two hands are like a cream, while the hour markers and the indices are white. Just subtle enough to notice and gives it a bit of personality. Make it pop a little more.

I bought this in August 2022 - and although it says it's the SBB CFF FFS, I can't find any version of it online. This one is particularly unique because you can see the shaft of the crown go into the back of the watch. On every other model they go directly into the bezel. It also has the letter M on the crown, which is not ribbed but is red so stands out a little.

The strap is not the original, that snapped so I got a new one with contrast white stitching which actually looks better. The thing I love about this watch is just how light and thin it is. But it can

take a beating too. I've worn this to death over the years and you can see its got its dent and scrapes. From the website;
