Juniper Berry Candle Review | Light up and Pour me a Gin

Today I'm back with another Candle review. This time it's Juniper Berry that's lighting up the hallways in my house, and the pathways in my mind.

I was curious to try this one out, yes it's another TJ MAXX purchase. But I heard awhile back about how the Juniper berry has long been known for its healing properties and has been used in various ancient cultures for spiritual purification and protection.

I've been struggling with tennis elbow and two trapped nerves for a couple of months now, so I thought why not give this a crack. And whilst it looks good, smells great, I can safely say I've noticed no difference in my health.

So what does Juniper smell like?

Actually I have reviewed a few products that have Juniper in them. The best one for me was the Heath Skincare products, you can read that review here. In it I say,

Firstly, I like anything with the word rescue in it. Has a swashbuckling ring to it don't you think? It's being coined the ‘Man Flu’ survival kit. Powered with Eucalyptus, Pine Needle, Juniper Berry and Rosemary essential oils to decongest and invigorate.Apparently men are more susceptible to colds and flu than women, throwing a new light on the idea of man flu.

This candle boasts all the characteristics one would associate with Juniper. It's crisp, with a dash of pine. Reminds me of those wonderful Hugo Spritz's I drank with my wife in Austria. (Think it was Austria. In fairness we've drunk them everywhere). It delivers on a woodsy, resinous, and clean, green, citrus-like top note. The word on the street

When combined with the soothing flicker of a candle, this crystal-infused wax will create an inviting atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding after a long day or diving deeper into your meditation practice.

Now I hear what you're saying, what cocktail goes best with this Juniper Berry Candle? Well considering I mentioned the Hugo Spritz one earlier we can go with that. I have done some research and found the Bees Knees would also accommodate a nice cocktail.

I'm in agreement with this article on Flour Child,

The Bees Knees is a delicious combination of aromatic gin, tart lemon juice, and sweet honey syrup. What's not to love, right? I decided to make a little Spring twist and created a juniper and rosewater simple syrup. It pairs so well with the gin and is so fresh! It's the perfect cocktail for a Spring gathering, and just in time for Easter! Cheers!
