EATING OUT in ORLANDO: THE GREAT AMERICAN PASTIME

EATING OUT in ORLANDO: THE GREAT AMERICAN PASTIME

Eating out in Orlando has become one of my favourite pastimes. Along the way I've documented some of the restaurants we've visited. It has been very annoying for the wife watching me take endless photos of food so I hope you appreciate the sacrifice. These restaurants are ones we would consider returning to.

1908 Bakery

2021 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803
Great for breakfast, easy parking and easy to order. Basically a lot of carbs, but if you're going

to do it wrong, do it right. More info on their website.

Atlantic Beer and Oyster

358 N Park Ave B, Winter Park, FL 32789

Laid-back atmosphere of coastal seafood shack with genuine heartfelt hospitality. The Crab legs were a hit, as was the fish and chips. Tucked away, parking available throughout the downtown area. See menu here.

Brother Jimmy's Icon Park

8441 International Drive Suite 290Orlando, FL 32819

Parking is in a multi storey nearby. (Not free). Icon Park has many eateries and exhibitions. We didn't fancy any of them in truth and went to see the Titanic Exhibition close-by. The pulled beef was good, the shrimp was better. More info and photos on their website here.

Kimbooki

3122 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803

High end Sushi. Don't expect to walk out without paying $200 for two people. But it was worth it. Some rolls. The Sake was watered down last time we went which was a shame. I will go for a beer next time. Still my favourite Sushi Bar. Parking available outside. Menus here.

Kombo Sushi Ramen

7325 Aloma Ave Winter Park, FL 32792

Perfectly serviceable Sushi. Straight off the plane, straight to the sushi bar. No fuss, no thrills, and no atmosphere. But the food was solid, good value and easy parking outside. Updated menu for 2025.

LongHorn Steakhouse

3101 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803

Yes feels very chain-y. But great value for money. Been multiple times now and there isn't a bad choice on the menu. Easy parking outside. No need to reserve a table. More info on their homepage.

Maya Cafe

1980 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792

Very bohemian, different. Great meeting place for couples. The servings were huge. The beetroot smoothie and the salad, burger without buns, all edible. Parking right outside. Read the story.

Seito

4898 New Broad St #32814, Orlando, FL 32814

Another sushi place, in Baldwin Park. Parking down side streets. A bit more upmarket, expensive. Have been here plenty of times now. Eating outside is a treat, food is impeccable. Award winning.

Sushi Yama

6748 Grand National Dr, Orlando, FL 32819
All you can eat. And it's all good. We eat at the bar every time. The wife has this down as her

favourite and it's where the locals eat. Easy parking outside. Try the handrolls.

The Metro Diner

11650 University Blvd, Orlando, FL 32817

Very chain-y. But a solid breakfast. Still unsure what these Yanks are doing with their shredded hash browns. Bottomless coffee and solid start to the day. Check out their selections and locations.

Volcano Hot Pot and BBQ

3560 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803

Very unconventional, pick your own, cook your own. Chicken feet is a thing? Yes, but best avoid./ Friendly staff, food (chicken feet aside) is terrific. Tucked away, plenty of parking. Enjoy, this is very different.
