Revelot Terra 'Dirty Dozen' Field Watch

Today I'm sharing some thoughts and notes on the new Revelot Terra 'Dirty Dozen' Field Watch that has just come on the market, with pre-orders now in February for delivery in March.
In 2017, Revelot came into existence within the confines of a modest garage in Kuala Lumpur. It was the brainchild of a passionate watch enthusiast who embarked on a journey to craft timepieces that transcends the ordinary realm of fashion watches. Revelot launched the R7 & R11 models on Kickstarter & Indiegogo and with the success of our crowdfunding we have expanded our product range to beyond just watches.
I've been on the lookout for a field watch with a good price point, and this could be the winner. Available for $250, with an extra $50 for the steel bracelet.
The aesthetic pays tribute to the iconic Dirty Dozen collection of field watches created by twelve different Swiss watchmakers during the final years of World War II. It comes in multiple colourways, too many to mention but check out their website. Which one is your favourite? I personally like the Black Sand.
Dimensions:
● 38m diameter
● Thickness 11m
● Lug to Lug 44m
● Lug Width 20 mill
● Movement is an automatic seagull St17
● 39 hour power reserve
Why do they choose to have an automatic movement on a Field Watch? Well it keeps the cost down, and it enables them to have an onion-style screw down 3 0'Clock crown (simple to use and a great size) and a Sub-dial at the 6. The second sub-dial is at the 6 and it is sunken into the dial slightly which gives it a lovely 3D feel. The dial is very legible, which is what you want on a field watch.
The thing I love most about the case is that its brushed and polished stainless steel, predominantly brushed with polished accents. As you'd expect with a Field Watch its supposed to be tactical, not overly mirrored. You don't want to give your position away with a flash of light bouncing off your bezel whilst in combat. The bezel is mostly brushed and lovely.
The crown is lumed with a Japanese Supernova, as are the blocked Arabic hour markers. The railroad track that chases round the dial face is not lumed, but the markers are. Another thing to note on the dial face, the brand name is printed but the logo is applied by the looks of things. On the back of the watch you'll also see the Revolut logo.
The strap, if you're going for the leather which is my preference for a Field Watch, has a quick release buckle that is branded, with double keepers with nice contrast stitching. It reminds me of the Bremont Terra Nova at 10% of the price. It's a shame because by the time you're reading this these are probably out of stock as they are selling quickly. But I wanted to put this brand and this model on your radar for future offerings and releases.
