Spicebomb Infrared by Viktor & Rolf | Fragrance Review

Spicebomb Infrared by Viktor&Rolf is an Amber Spicy fragrance for men. Spicebomb Infrared was launched in 2021. Inspired by the Infrared technology which detects body heat, (and how timely with the 36th anniversary of Predator).  Viktor&Rolf ignites a magnetic seduction game that burns like a flame. Spicebomb Infrared turns the heat up in all senses, creating a crescendo of sexiness, a true frenzy of torrid feelings and seduction, impossible to deny, unbearable to ignore, even when one is alone. (You have to hand it to these copywriters, they make it sound like a Jackie Collins novel).

Spicebomb Infrared is a never-before-seen ambery spicy fragrance. Created as an explosion of hot red spices, Spicebomb Infrared opens up with the vibrant character of red berries leading the way to the incisive burn of the Habanero red pepper.

Bottle and Packaging

Spicebomb Infrared reinterprets the iconic Spicebomb pomegranate bottle by tinting the dark-deep glass with a magnetic and vibrant red. I do enjoy these bottles as they look like nothing else on the shelf. Easily the most identifiable bottle on the market and feels good to hold. An incandescent pomegranate, which we quickly pull out to give free rein to the hottest seduction games.

Notes

Top notes are Red Fruits, Pink Pepper and Saffron.

Middle notes are Cinnamon and Red Pepper.

Base notes are Tobacco and Benzoin.

First Impressions

Opens with a slight fruitiness that reminds me of pack lunches. Maybe a Ribena element to it and I don't mean that in a bad way. The pepper comes on strong like an uppercut, swallowing all the fruitiness and mystique. It makes an immediate impact on the senses, and elevates my mood. It's like having that first pint after work and feeling like you could hit the clubs later.

Dry Down

The peppers really last. I found the cinnamon come through after a few hours, which was surprising but works like a good cop bad cop routine. There was some tobacco late on and I found some cedarwood notes right at the death which was about 7 hours in. Although there are no wood notes in top billing.

Where to wear

I've heard rumours this is a winter only fragrance but I love the fact that the heat amplifies some of the tobacco right at the end and gives the scent a new shape. BBQ's and Ball games, that's what I think and maybe a first date with someone you think might be a bit kinky.
