Grecian Park Hotel in Protaras, Cyprus: Reviewed
Grecian Park Hotel Protaras - View of Hotel.jpg

It certainly feels like awhile since I've posted a hotel review. But what a blast I had at the Grecian Park Hotel in Protaras, Cyprus. I arrived with Tuula late night, Charlie had to sit this one out I'm afraid. The hotel doesn't allow pets, but logistically it would have been a lot of work to get him over here and looking after him during the wedding events etc.

The reception staff are all smiles, framed by an ornate black marble wall with white fleck in front of some American oak and walnut front desk panelling. The rooms are luxurious, spacious and themed with white bed linen sunk beneath rustic brown leather headboards with a chesterfield finish. The white leather furniture are offset by light pine-effect floor stucco and tobacco finish lampshades. Some rooms vary, as you can see on the photo gallery on the website

I love the traditional aspects as well as the modern touches. The wood finished short-bridge that crept serpentine from the hotel to the beach. Great for Insta photos of course and the beach is literally a stone’s throw. (Within a few hundred metres). Although they had more than an adequate gym, I foolishly decided to go for a run along the beachfront, at Lunchtime !! Not advisable. Luckily the pool was on hand to cool me off for a relaxing dip. And the pool is massive and is well vetted. No run-riot kids or stag-dos.

It has a very homely feel. The staff was very courteous and professional. They had a great food buffet for breakfast and also for dinner and you won't go to bed hungry believe me. I certainly recommend the spoils in the Japanese restaurant. You will need to dress accordingly, no swim shorts. Which is absolutely fine by me. We should all be making an effort when dining in public, especially for dinner.

For our a la carte restaurants, UMI Japanese & Sushi Bar Restaurant and RAVIOLI’S Italian restaurant, is at the discretion of the management at the time if they will permit half board/full board guests to dine in them, with reservation only. There is a set menu to choose from which is a selected number of dishes.

OTHER TIPS

Although we went onto a different hotel, free COVID tests are available in the hotel prior to your return flight to the UK. You also have the opportunity to enjoy Grecian Sands and Grecian Bay which are the other hotels which boast a choice of bars/restaurants to enjoy about 10 mins away by car. (We didn't get the opportunity due to time constraints). For logistics, it's recommend you fly to Larnaca airport rather than Pathos.
