New ClarinsMen Energising Skincare | Get Some Skinergy

Today I'm going to talk to you about the latest offering from Clarins, the ClarinsMens Energising Gel and Energising Eye Gel. It's being sold as a "shot of energy for your skin." But does your skin need energy? Won't a flat white do? Sorry I'm being facetious.

Men's skin is thicker than women’s caused by being richer in testosterone, and they renew cells faster. Therefore skin needs as much energy to help it process of renewing cells efficiently. This is where ClarinsMens comes in. It helps invigorate and reset tired and stressed skin.

I was forwarded on a couple of samples & here are my thoughts:

First off the bottles are letterbox red with white lettering and silver caps. The eye gel is in a tapered plastic tube whilst the gel is in a cylindrical bottle so no confusing the two.

The application is easy enough, and neither product have a sticky texture. Both absorb into the skin as expected and the formula feels rich and invigorating. The organic red ginseng extract has a minutely mild woody scent. Although no one can really characterise the smell of ginseng. Hence the infamous quote, the only thing that smells like ginseng is ginseng.

Ginseng has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to energise and stimulate, as an adaptogen plant it helps the body to resist all kinds of aggressions, extreme temperatures and the effects of stress. It's being implemented in these energising gels to help rejuvenate the skin cell's 'energy-producing factories'  otherwise known as the mitochondria.

The mitochondria can become damaged by oxidative stress brought on by continuous exposure to external aggressors and therefore produce less energy, which means cell function slows down and the effect on the skin is visible: loss of radiance, signs of fatigue and premature skin ageing.

Still with me?

My skin has had a healthy shot of energy. Whilst the effects have been slight, I have noticed a small reduction in the circles around my eyes and an overall renewed vitality. Overall both gels have been a welcome addition to my morning grooming regime. I would buy these again certainly, for me it's a good investment and the products are evenly priced. Make sure to check the Clarins website as you can include testers to your basket when shopping.
