WAKE UP YOUR SKIN WITH WAKE!
WAKE Skincare x Carl Thompson.jpg

Today I want to share some thoughts on some new Wake Skincare that I was kindly gifted. Designed by two smart millennials - Anton Burton age 30 and Alex Mavor age 29 who were all too familiar with the effects that staring longingly into a screen can have on your skin.

These innovative products are designed to solve the problems of a non-stop lifestyle including long hours on screens emitting blue light, working out at the gym and the lacklustre, photo-aged skin that can result.

The Wake story begins with just three essentials: an Eye Gel, a Face Cream and a Face Mask. As simple as that. All products are fragrance free and gender neutral or come with a natural scent. And all come housed in glass jars to reduce plastic consumption and recycled cardboard packaging which is also recyclable.

THE EYE GEL

Eyes are the first place to show fatigue, dark circles, and fine lines when you’ve been staring at a screen all day. I've always struggled with dark circles. Even before I go into I.T. This Eye Gel was easy enough to apply, it applied evenly and I felt it diminished the circles, but not radically. Still some is better than none. I like the fact that it can defend your skin against the blue light, and you can also utilise the Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant which prevents the ageing of the delicate skin around the eyes. £22.98 / 30ml

THE FACE CREAM

This is a lightweight, refreshing gel-cream formulation that sinks in fast, is non greasy and easy to use. Powerful antioxidant Vitamin E tackles blemishes and banishes acne whilst Hyaluronic Acid instantly hydrates and plumps skin. It did manage to give my face a radiant glow and sunk into my skin nicely. Non-greasy and it didn't break me out which can often happen with new moisturisers. £24.98 / 50ml

THE FACE MASK

Detox after a heavy weekend spent partying or overindulging or simply too many late nights spent on screens. This one is all about instant results. So isn't it amazing during lock down that after a long day in front of the computer, all we want to do is go and watch something on Netflix, which is just another screen one swivel on your chair away.

So this is my favourite product in the range. No need for wash cloths which can get a bit weary and mucky after awhile. Keep it on for ten minutes, wash off with warm water and let the exfoliating beads do the rest.

In just 15 minutes this Australian Pink Clay face mask reduces acne caused by blocked up pores and banishes dead skin. I don't suffer from acne but I did enjoy the experience and my skin felt brand new-ish. .  £27.98 / 50ml
