YSL Pure Shots Night Reboot Serum Review

I've had many hit and run affairs with serums and anti-fatiguing lotions and potions. So I was a bit weary of trying yet another Night Reboot serum. However, the YSL Pure Shots Night Reboot Serum not only hit all the right notes, it went platinum on its first weekend. (Nb - not sure if that reference totally works Carl but let's run with it). I do love some of the science explained away in the description notes,

The formula is enriched with moonlight cactus flower extract, which blooms for only 6 hours every year and releases its sugar during this rare occasion. The plant’s rare sugar has been captured through a cold and slow extraction process designed for YSL Beauty.

Rare sugar? Cactus extract? You had me at moonlight but I'm in. As are the results after a couple of nights of application.

My skin certainly feels more refined. I added this to my evening regime and found the finish to be smooth. It has a luxury feel, perhaps due to the richness of the formula. I'm not one for over moisturising. I feel like once a day is enough and let the skins natural defences do the rest. Of course I like to wash my face at night, mainly to inform Tuula I'm not a complete heathen. But I don't like to get my face to active. So applying this night serum leaves my skin feeling heavily hydrated. It is non sticky, absorbs well and corrects skin moisture balance.

The bottle is glamorous although I make no illusions that this is targeted for women. At first glance I thought this was nail polish. Naturally this would be a perfect gift for your partner as she will appreciate a branded serum that looks this elegant. And it goes without saying that it's also a present for yourself as you'll be using it too.

Overall, good quality, felt like luxury on my skin, good value for money. BUY.
