THE DAVID BECKHAM CLASSIC FRAGRANCE COLLECTION CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

THE DAVID BECKHAM CLASSIC FRAGRANCE COLLECTION CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

Ten Years eh? Don't they go by in a blink. Ten years ago I was just putting together some initial sketches together for my E-Commerce site Hawkins & Shepherd, I found my first grey hair on my beard!

Oh and David Beckham launched his Classic Fragrance collection, Classic Eau de Toilette, Classic Homme Eau de Toilette and Classic Blue Eau de Toilette.

Inspired by David's authentic journey, lifestyle and values, these timeless fragrances remain as contemporary and relevant today as they were when first launched. Just like his innate style, the David Beckham Fragrances Classic Collection is classic with a twist.

The Classic Collection is a captivating reinterpretation of the power of classics; each scent has been carefully crafted with specially selected ingredients that have stood the test of time. Well ten years at least.

So what makes a classic?

According to WIKI, Classic refers to:

A classic is an outstanding example of a particular style; something of lasting worth or with a timeless quality; of the first or highest quality, class, or rank – something that exemplifies its class.

We all have an image in our heads when the word Classic is brought up in conversation. For my money it's something that was once introduced, and since riffed on, studied, dissected, reimagined but for some reason, despite many attempts, cannot be beat or improved upon.

Maybe it's Sean Connery's iconic mohair suits in his early James Bond films, perhaps it's the soundtrack to the movie Highlander by Queen, or maybe it really is a fragrance that has endured the test of time. The David Beckham Classic Fragrance Collection is the latter, and although it was conveniently called Classic on conception, it has gone on to prove its namesake.

A wonderful article on what makes a classic can be found online by Italo Calvino and every one of his 14 points are enviably articulated and ring true with me.

You can buy the fragrances individually, links through the David Beckham website. All very reasonably priced. I imagine they will release this Classic Collection as a gift set soon, much like how I received my (gifted) Gift Set.
