Mercure Inverness Hotel Review | Stay Local UK

Last night whilst in the bar at the Mercure Inverness hotel, I was asked about places I have traveled to and without a hesitation I started rolling off incredible secluded islands off of Brazil, Venezuela and of course some places in Africa, all amazing places that are hard to travel to, quite secluded and are totally off the beaten track. Then I was asked the same question but in the UK and I was actually quite stumped. I’ve always lived in the UK and of course I’ve visited a fair number of cities and places but it become apparent that I haven’t been to many amazing areas of attraction or natural beauty that we DO have within these shores.

It made me think about appreciating our own country a bit more and despite the fact that we don’t have the best weather; we do have a coastline, beautiful countryside, history and even phenomenons like the Loch Ness monster and Stonehenge. Inverness opened my eyes to that and today I’m leaving to visit another major city in Scotland…Aberdeen. I’ve never been there but I’m excited to explore. Plus I’ll be driving through the Cairngorm National Park to get there.

Whilst in Inverness I stayed at the Mercure Inverness Hotel which is situated on the river front adjacent to the town centre, main shopping, dining and drinking areas. Getting there is simple too, I flied from London to Inverness which only took 1 hour and 40 minutes and with only a short 10 minute drive from the airport to the hotel it makes it a great destination for a short local break.

The Mercure Inverness Hotel is extremely stylish, newly refurbished throughout and this incredible interior design is polished off with the most attentive, friendly staff. The check-in process was seamless of which you can check-in from 2pm. However if you do arrive early then there is plenty of amenities to entertain yourself with until you room is ready. They have a pool table, bar area, awesome lunch area or even some relaxation sofas where you can lose yourself in your book or newspaper. Failing that, leave your luggage with the reception staff and head out into the town centre (which is on it's doorstep) and do some shopping or explore the local area.

I stayed in room 108 which is one of their superior or premium rooms. The room itself was stylish, modern and full of all amenities that you’ll need for a short break, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and even a hairdryer. So if you are in Inverness for business, International visitor or for a local staycation it is the only hotel that you'll need to book into.
